What this page covers
“Cookies” here means small pieces of data stored in your browser by this site or by a company whose service the site uses. This page covers cookies and similar browser storage. The Privacy notice explains how we use personal data more widely.

| Security check on forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Tells people and automated programs apart when you send a form. Loaded on pages that have a form | Strictly necessary | Cloudflare | Cloudflare may keep a small item in your browser’s storage for this check. It does not publish how long that lasts |

_tt_enable_cookie |
Set by TikTok’s pixel. The TikTok documentation we checked does not say what it is for, so we cannot describe its purpose | Advertising | TikTok (TikTok pixel), after you accept | TikTok says its pixel cookies expire 13 months after they were set or last used, but the TikTok help page we read does not list this cookie. Your browser’s cookie settings show when it expires |
tt_sessionId, tt_pixel_session_index and tt_appInfo |
Part of the TikTok pixel’s session and page information. TikTok does not publish a description of these items that we could cite, so we cannot say more | Advertising | TikTok (TikTok pixel), after you accept | Until you close the tab or window. Removed when you withdraw consent |
Strictly necessary items are used without asking, because the site cannot keep your choice or protect its forms without them. They are not used to track you or for advertising.
The names and lifetimes of the analytics and advertising items are set by Google, Meta and TikTok, not by us, and they can change them. Google publishes its Google Ads lifetimes by category, not cookie by cookie, so the descriptions above are ours. If we find another cookie or storage item, we add it to this table.
Analytics
Analytics is off by default. If you accept it, Google Analytics records:
- the pages you view;
- taps on our phone number;
- quote, enquiry and application forms sent successfully.
It does not receive your name, email address, phone number or the text of your messages. We use these counts to see which pages and which of our ads help people reach us. We do not use Google Analytics to build profiles of you.
Links in our ads and social media posts carry labels such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics records the labels in the link you came from, so we can see which campaigns bring calls and enquiries. The page address it receives keeps these labels and leaves out any click identifier that an ad link added. If you do not accept analytics, we do not record the labels.
When Analytics runs, your browser contacts Google, so Google can see your IP address as part of that connection. Read Google’s privacy policy to see what it does with it. If you do not accept analytics, your browser does not contact Google from this site.
Advertising and social media
We advertise on Google, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Google Ads, Meta (Instagram and Facebook ads) and TikTok each have their own switch, and each is off by default. If you accept one, the page loads that company’s measurement tool: Google Ads, the Meta pixel or the TikTok pixel. The tool sets the cookies listed as Advertising in the table above and lets us measure how our ads perform. Accepting one does not switch on the others.
Each tool receives:
- the pages you view, taps on our phone number and forms sent successfully;
- a cookie identifier, your IP address and details of your browser;
- the address of the page you are on, which can include a click identifier that an ad link added to it.
We do not send them your name, email address, phone number or the text of your messages.
Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC) measures the calls and forms that follow our Google ads. We do not use it to build remarketing audiences, and we switch off ad personalisation for it.
Google, TikTok (TikTok Technology Limited, Ireland, and its group companies) and Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms, Inc.) act under their own terms and privacy notices, and may use some of the data for their own purposes, such as building advertising profiles. Where the tools allow, we switch off the settings that let them match visits to this site with your email address or with other websites. Read Google’s privacy policy, TikTok’s privacy policy and Meta’s privacy policy to see what they do with the data. If you do not accept a tool, your browser does not contact that company from this site for advertising.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising or social media cookies unless you accept them. This site does not load maps, videos or fonts from other companies.
Your choice and how to change it
When you first visit, a box opens in the middle of the page and asks about analytics and advertising. Advertising has a separate choice for Google Ads, Meta and TikTok. On most pages the rest of the page cannot be used until you make a choice. This Cookie policy and the Privacy notice can be read before you choose, and Cookie settings in the footer opens the choice at any time. Until you choose, analytics and advertising stay off. The two buttons are the same size and style, each takes one click, and the site works the same whichever you choose.
- Only necessary keeps analytics off, and choosing it later withdraws consent. Google Ads, Meta and TikTok stay off too, so none of their cookies are set.
- Accept turns on Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta and TikTok from that point.
- Customise shows one switch each for Analytics, Google Ads, Meta and TikTok, which are off unless you switch them on, and a switch for Necessary, which is on and cannot be switched off. Under each switch a short line says what it is for. Save choices keeps what the switches show. If every switch is off, that counts as a rejection.
Cookie settings, in the footer of every page, opens the box again, set to your current choice. You can change your mind there at any time. To withdraw consent, switch off the ones you no longer want and select Save choices. If a tool is running, the page reloads without it.
If you withdraw, we stop sending data to that company and delete its cookies from your browser. This does not affect what was collected while you had accepted. We ask again after 6 months, or sooner if we change what analytics or advertising does, for example when we add a company. If you accepted and we ask you again, we delete the analytics and advertising cookies from your browser when you next visit, before you choose again.
You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you do, we will ask for your choice again.
What withdrawing cannot remove
Some things are outside our page’s reach, and you can remove them yourself:
- cookies and data held on Google’s, Meta’s or TikTok’s own websites, for example if you are signed in to them. Those companies govern them;
- anything a company received before you withdrew. It is kept under that company’s own rules, so ask the company or use its ad settings.
To clear them:
- In your browser: open its settings for cookies or site data and remove the data for testagas.co.uk, google.com, facebook.com and tiktok.com. Most browsers also offer “clear browsing data”.
- At the companies: Google’s ad settings (My Ad Center), Meta’s Accounts Centre ad preferences and its “off-Meta activity” setting, and TikTok’s ad settings and its “off-TikTok activity” setting. These are the companies’ own pages, and they can change them.
More about the security check
The security check is provided by Cloudflare and runs on pages with a form. It helps stop automated programs sending spam through our forms. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for how Cloudflare handles data.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If we add a new kind of cookie that needs your consent, we ask you again.
