Servicing
The engineer cleans and checks the burner, tests the safety controls and checks the combustion so the burner runs as it should. A Riello burner service includes a combustion analysis: the flue gases are measured and the burner is adjusted so it burns the gas cleanly and efficiently. The readings are recorded on CP15, the CORGIdirect servicing record for non-domestic appliances.
The gas train
The gas train is the set of valves, regulator, filter and pressure switches between the gas supply and the burner. It is what stops gas reaching the burner when it should not, so the engineer checks that each part works and that the valves close fully.
Burner lockout
A burner goes to lockout when its controls detect a fault, for example no flame on start-up, and shut it down for safety. On site it shows as a lockout light on the burner and plant that has stopped. Resetting it again and again does not fix the cause. The engineer finds the fault and puts it right, or explains what is needed and quotes for it. Burner commissioning
When a burner is fitted, moved or has major parts replaced, it is commissioned: set up to suit the boiler it fires, with the combustion checked across its firing range and the results recorded.
Riello burners can be serviced on a planned maintenance contract with the rest of the plant.
